Just for a Day…

Let’s do something different… or maybe it’s something you always do.  Either way, let’s try it – just for a day.

Just for today, let’s try to stop judging.  Yes, I am talking to myself here too!  When we think of judging, we normally think of judging people.  While it’s true that that is one part of it, I am also asking you to stop judging situations –just for a day.

I invite you to stop the black and white thinking.  People and situations are never good or bad until you put your ownBlue Butterfly perceptions and judgments on them.  Today, make an agreement to see everything as “just the way it is”.

Once you release your judgment, two things should begin to happen.  First of all, your complaining should begin to subside.  After all, if nothing is “wrong” then there is nothing to complain about, right?

Secondly, you should begin to feel more peaceful.  As you let go of constantly assessing things and just allow them to be, a clam sense of serenity will begin to wash over you.  Hanging on tightly to results and searching for a false sense of control is no longer an option.

Sure, this might be a challenge at first.  It’s probably very different from the way you are used to viewing things.  But let’s give it a try together… just for a day.

  1. Good thoughts, Kelly. I taught a class for years called SALT – Seven Areas of Life Training. One of the cornerstones of the class was that we do not have the right to judge or set standards for others, or even for ourselves. That right belongs to God alone, and He will not share that with us. When we take over for Him (as we almost always do in some way or another), it brings great harm to us and those around us. It puts us in a jail cell…with us inside holding the key.
    Keep up the good work.
    Hugs,
    Jeanne
